On the day of your surgery, you’ll be welcomed back to Regency Eye and your medical details will be confirmed in case there are any changes.
Don’t eat or drink anything for two to three hours beforehand.
Your surgeon will give you local anaesthetic eye drops. The area around your eye will be cleaned with antiseptic.
Once the anaesthetic has fully taken effect, your consultant will give you an injection through the wall of your eye. The whole process is pretty painless and will take around 10 minutes.
Following your surgery, you should be able to go home about an hour later. It’s best to get someone to drive you home after the surgery. Your eyes might be uncomfortable and red for a few days, which is perfectly normal. The initial recovery will take around a week, although recovery times vary. If you have any problems or questions after your surgery, contact Regency Eye to speak to one of our surgeons.
